Christmas Greetings from PAMI Philippines!

From Pastor Chito B. Mendizabal, Field Director – EBI-PAMI Philippines
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.” 2 Cor. 2:14

Praise God for His abundant mercy and grace that we may become an aroma, spreading the fragrance of Christ to all people. Thanks be to God, just recently, we’ve been a conduit of His grace, extending hands to a pastor [William Thompson] and family in their great ordeals – from hospital needs to arranging things at home (wife died from Heart Attack after 3 days aggressive interventions in the ICU).  Some EBI students stayed with the family to help in the cooking, arranging of Bible study every night for 7 days, ushered guests; We too help in processing papers of insurance;  preached at their Sunday service and officiated the necrological service.  While we were at the hospital, we’re able to minister too to other patients (4 other rooms) mostly Christians (Divine appointment?) praying and helping.  And you had great part in those ministries of serving, because of your financial help and your constant intercessions for us.

Will Graham Kickoff Rally and Other Ministry Updates

From Will Graham kickoff Rally

Dear Brother Mike & PAMI brothers & friends,
In God’s love and peace! This time we’re able to rest from EBI teaching and other class schedules because of semestral break. EBI will resume November 4th. But some students preferred to stay to help with small groups Bible studies. It’s good however, that most of the small group leaders are here especially those who work with compassion since it’s their Month Sportfest. But we give them permission (EBI people) to go home for a couple of days for the Barangay Election. This could be a family visit as well.

Ministry to Kids and Construction of Building for Them

New kids building being used for the first time on Aug 15 after steel roof and cement floor were added.

Praise God that the new kids’ building at EBI is now finished enough to be useable!   After about two months of construction and $2500 spent so far, the cement walls and floor, and steel roof are now in place.  But approximately another $1500 is desired to finish it (adding electrical, plastering of walls inside and outside, steel window frames and glass, and installing comfort room and sink).  Please consider helping with this.

This building will especially be a big asset to the Compassion ministry.  It will be a “home” for the 101 Compassion kids to gather, display their artwork, and call their own.  Medical, dental, and other services will be rendered there.  Tables, chairs, teaching aides, and supplies will be stored there.  It will also be an office for adminstrative work.  Furthermore, since this building is a big improvement to our facility, it’s probable that Compassion will increase the number of sponsored kids to 150 by 2011!
Below are photos and a report from Ptr Chito that describes their gratefulness and gives more details, history, and other facets of PAMI’s ministry to children: Read More

Construction of New Compassion Building at EBI

Construction is underway for a new building to support the Compassion site at EBI.  Through Compassion International, 100 local Filipino children are sponsored, and come with their parents every week and receive Bible instruction, training in practical skills, medical care, school supplies, etc.  PAMI is raising funds for the construction of a new building to house the Compassion program.  The total cost of the building is $3000.  PAMI has so far raised $2000 towards this project, and construction has started.  We need $1000 more to complete the building.  Would you consider a donation to partner with us in this ministry?

State of the Union

PAMI workers at Jan 27 mtg

Dear PAMI friends,

Just as President Obama gave a State of the Union address last week, I thought I should send a PAMI update that summarizes some highlights from 2009 as well as some prospects for 2010.  Attached are the following:

* PAMI Bulletin–Jan. 2010 PDF file that can be viewed with Adobe Acrobat reader
This is like a PAMI newsletter, but sent to a more limited audience.  It includes info on a potential partnership with Faith Comes By Hearing to do an evangelism and discipleship program called End to End (E2E), a desire to retain at least a couple EBI students after their March graduation, and a desire to construct a building to service Compassion kids at EBI.  Note that we’ve recently received $1000 in memory of Arlon Kompelien (husband of PAMI board member Lois Kompelien), which we’ll probably use towards this Compassion building, but we’ll need $2000 more to complete it.

* Four Christmas pictures, including one of EBI receiving an award for 1st-runner-up in a Province-wide Christmas cantata contest held at Aemelianum College.  To be invited and to place well brings nice recognition of EBI in the eyes of the community. (see below)

*  PAMI Worker’s Jan. 26th Meeting Report  from Pastor Chito that lists accomplishments, goals, and prayer requests of several PAMI places (see below)
* Two pictures of PAMI workers from their Jan. 26th meeting (see below)
