Construction of New Compassion Building at EBI

Construction is underway for a new building to support the Compassion site at EBI.  Through Compassion International, 100 local Filipino children are sponsored, and come with their parents every week and receive Bible instruction, training in practical skills, medical care, school supplies, etc.  PAMI is raising funds for the construction of a new building to house the Compassion program.  The total cost of the building is $3000.  PAMI has so far raised $2000 towards this project, and construction has started.  We need $1000 more to complete the building.  Would you consider a donation to partner with us in this ministry?

New Water Source at EBI

Praise God that things are getting back to normal. No more rushing to the river as early as 4 AM. Now that we already have water connection fromcity water supply. Though the supply is not that big. In fact, in our application, they let the applicant sign a waiver that  says “no 24 hours supply of water.” In our seminar, they told us that 3 springs (sources) had dried too. Their water supply comes from 7 pumping stations (drilled 100 meters deep). So, they regulated the supply of water, as I look at it, supply is made from 4AM until 4PM. So we have to fill all containers to be sure that we have enough water during the cut.

EBI Water Shortage

These are some recent texts from Ptr Chito:
“Great is our need for water here in Sorsogon due to 3months straight of no rain.  Both of EBI’s hand-pump wells went dry.  Our situation here in the Bible school becomes worse now that school is on.  About 50 of us are going to the river (about 1 mile away) morning and afternoon for our water needs–cooking, drinking, cleaning, bathing, washing, and kids building construction (water for cement). We’re considering to temporarily stop the Bible school and just resume when rain comes, but students are persevering.  Praise God for resilient students and hardworking ones who are daily fetching water. Construction is on-going, and all EBI, church, E2E and Compassion activities.”

Updates, Praises, and Prayer Requests

The richest grace of God in Christ Jesus!
I [have had] some problems with regards to the laptop program. Prior to receiving your Windows 7, I tried hard enough for the printer/scanner to connect to the laptop because I’m preparing the lessons/hardcopy for students use. Besides that I have to submit some documents to compassion office in pdf/scanned for faster transactions. But as if that compaq only receives windows vista; not the lower windows (1998, 2000, 2003 or XP) as those are compatibles with our printers/scanners here. So, when I received your package/box, I was so excited to the possibility that Windows7 is the solution. I immediately downloaded Windows7, disregarding the warning of saving important program first for back up. Good that I did some in USB flashdrive, because other programs were lost when I upgraded windows vista to windows7, including the internet configurations. Anyway, Brother Mario (Gacis), installed me Linnux which I’m using now.

End-to-End Training at EBI

Greetings in Christ! Thank God for giving us another opportunity to serve Him in varied ways. This time, a complete program of planting/starting a church, the End to End Program. This starts with Acclaimer (The Jesus’ film, available in any dialects – message of salvation); followed-up by the Proclaimer, audio Bible of NT (Mat-Rev), forming a BLG, Bible listening group of 7 above for a regular Bible study (at least 1/wk); and giving each attendee a copy of Bible. This is not only evangelism but helping the new believer grow in the Lord through regular study of God’s Word (Matt 29:19-20); and eventually starting a small group or a local church.

New Kids Ministry in Sirangan (a poor area near Sorsogon market)

The grace of God in Christ Jesus!
Last April 02, 2010 (Good Friday), Sis Marietta Calolot (former Marietta Rosin; EBI batch 1 *) visited us at EBI and shared us about opening a ministry/missionwork.
Relatives of her husband (Raffy) which happened to be christians in Metro Manila were looking for christian workers to start mission at their place in Sirangan, Sorsogon City. Sis Carol Escalora (former Carol Calolot) formerly lived at Sirangan (Barangay Sirangan is the market site of the Sorsogon City – with about 20 thousand or more people, considered one of the depressed barangays with people living in slum or shanty houses. Year 1987, this barangay was devasted by flashflood that 1000 people mostly children died).

Testimonies of EBI Graduates to Become PAMI Workers

Recent EBI graduates Lorenzo Fugen and Isomel Espinar are to join PAMI.
Lorenzo will help co-pastor the PAMI Church in Bulusan (Lorenzo’s hometown) and co-administer the E2E ministry with veteran Pastor Virgil Gacis.  Administering E2E will involve Pastors Lorenzo and Virgil scheduling and conducting “Jesus” film showings with various pastors in different locations, distributing audio Bible “Proclaimers” and printed Bibles for follow-up Listening Group Bible studies, and reporting on results.
Isomel intends to plant a church in Calbayog City, Western Samar, and may be aided by his sister Michelle.  Iso and Icy come from San Isidro, Samar and should be well suited to pioneering in Calgayog because they speak the same local dialect.  They have done internship together and graduated from EBI together on March 23rd.
While Lorenzo already has a sponsor, Iso and Icy still need sponsors to cover about $100 per month allowance, $35 per month rent, and $25 per month to start a children’s milk feeding ministry like done in most other PAMI locations.   Lorenzo and Isomel’s  Testimony and Application Letters follow: Read More
