Sirangan Outreach

Written by Ptr. Chito Mendizabal
Sometimes, our schedule isn’t as smooth as we’d like. Sirangan outreach schedule of Christmas program was Sunday, December 19th in the afternoon, immediately following the Emmaus Christmas program in the morning. Sponsors (children’s feeding, our transpo, now christmas gifts) arrived from Manila. They prepared food and gifts for the children and adults Bible study. Beforehand, names of children and adults who attended Saturdays Bible study were asked and been sent to Manila. Gifts then were very personalized, names were on each gift. This might be good in a place like Sirangan where some people tend to be “clever.” Interested only to receive gifts and not in Bible study. Read More

Christmas Greetings from PAMI Philippines!

From Pastor Chito B. Mendizabal, Field Director – EBI-PAMI Philippines
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.” 2 Cor. 2:14

Praise God for His abundant mercy and grace that we may become an aroma, spreading the fragrance of Christ to all people. Thanks be to God, just recently, we’ve been a conduit of His grace, extending hands to a pastor [William Thompson] and family in their great ordeals – from hospital needs to arranging things at home (wife died from Heart Attack after 3 days aggressive interventions in the ICU).  Some EBI students stayed with the family to help in the cooking, arranging of Bible study every night for 7 days, ushered guests; We too help in processing papers of insurance;  preached at their Sunday service and officiated the necrological service.  While we were at the hospital, we’re able to minister too to other patients (4 other rooms) mostly Christians (Divine appointment?) praying and helping.  And you had great part in those ministries of serving, because of your financial help and your constant intercessions for us.

Will Graham Kickoff Rally and Other Ministry Updates

From Will Graham kickoff Rally

Dear Brother Mike & PAMI brothers & friends,
In God’s love and peace! This time we’re able to rest from EBI teaching and other class schedules because of semestral break. EBI will resume November 4th. But some students preferred to stay to help with small groups Bible studies. It’s good however, that most of the small group leaders are here especially those who work with compassion since it’s their Month Sportfest. But we give them permission (EBI people) to go home for a couple of days for the Barangay Election. This could be a family visit as well.

Pictures from Bulan Baptism

On October 16 a baptismal service was held by our church in Bulan.  10 new souls were baptized: 6 from the town of Bulan, 2 from Otavi, 1 from Monical, and 1 from Tonbongan.  Praise the Lord!
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4

We are all blessed to have you as partners!

A greeting from Pastor Chito Mendizabal written for the PAMI annual pot luck held on September 24
Beloved in the Lord Jesus,
I wrote this letter just after our prayer meeting this night. We prayed for so many things as always because of so many needs: healing, protection from Dengue virus, safe delivery of pregnant mothers in our Bible studies, job for a father who’s contemplating to transfer his family to other place because of lack of job opportunities here, budget for church buildings, progress of our small groups… but we also had a special prayer for you in your event for tomorrow, the PAMI Potluck Fellowship. And whenever we have you in our prayer lists, our hearts were burnt with fire of grace, love and courage knowing that we’re always in your intercessions and prayers. Likened to Aaron and Hur holding the hands of Moses until Joshua and some Israelites defeated the Amalekites (Exodus 17).

Nun Comes to Know Christ

When ministering God’s Word, we never know whom he might lead us to.  Pastor Randy tells us that on September 12, a woman who was a nun, and who has listened to Randy’s Christian radio programs for some time, attended the Sunday morning worship service in Allen.  Afterward, Randy led this woman to accept Jesus as personal Lord and Savior.  Glory to God!

Feed My Starving Children Meals Used in San Isidro, Samar

From Sister Raquel Ongcal (serving in San Isidro, Samar)
Greetings! We have Sunday worship here (afternoon) in San Isidro attended mostly by young people and some adults. We have lot children here for their Bible study and feeding. Thank you very much for the Feed My Starving Children meals that you’ve sent, this adds to our milk feeding. The children love this meal. I received 7 from Pastor Chito. I pray that you would send us more. Please pray too for me here in San Isidro as I’m working alone. At first, Janice (EBI intern) is with me, but went home temporarily because of severe skin allergy, probably from too much exposure to heat/sun or maybe due to water. Anyway, nothing to worry because the house that we’re renting here is owned by a Christian too.

Healing Leads to More (report from Bulusan)

Praise God for His mighty deeds! As He heals Bro Boy Robles from paralysis (see previous article) more people are coming to God. Bro Boy and wife and family want to be baptized and some others. Sunday goers are increasing, so with attendance in prayer meeting. Other ministries like milk-feeding and outreaches continue. I used audio-Bible Bicolano in our Bible studies here. Listeners were surprised to hear Pastor Chito in the proclaimer (as Pastor Chito’s hometown is Bulusan). I wish we have Bicol Bible that people would read too while listening. Lorenzo stayed most of the time in Sorsogon because of the E2E schedules that mostly in Sorsogon and nearby town. I told him to finish his schedules first the west part of the province, then I’ll work with him when schedules are in the east part like that of Bulusan, Gubat, Barcelona or Irosin.
Thank you very much for being our partners. God bless you more!
In Christ,
Pastor Virgil Gacis

Welcome Baby Moses

Ptr. Gumer and Ophie Gile (serving Irosin Christian Church) are now proud parents of an adopted baby.  Gumer writes:
We thank God too for His gift of baby for me and my wife. The baby was from a young girl who was abandoned by a boyfriend after knowing that she’s pregnant. Still pregnant then, the girl decided to look for a couple who would receive her baby as she thought that she isn’t capable of becoming a single mother.
Ptr Gumer and wife Ophie decided to adopt the baby as they [had been] really praying to have one for quite a long time. So, on July 7, 2010, they took the baby, registered at the local registry, them as his parents, and named the baby Moses.

Evangelism Via Radio, Massage, and Haircuts (news from Casiguran and Allen)

Ptr Rafael (left) and Ptr Randy's son Jordan (right) with a Casiguran family who listens to Ptr Randy's radio programs.

Although Casiguran and Allen are in two different Provinces and two different islands, the two share a couple connections. Evidently the FM radio signal from Ptr Randy’s programs broadcasted from Allen, Samar are able to travel over 30 miles and be heard by people in Casiguran, Sorsogon. In turn, there were listeners from Casiguran that sent text messages to Ptr Randy, and Ptr Randy then introduced them to Ptr Rafael.

Furthermore, both Casiguran and Allen employ creative means to reach out to people.  As you can see in the following reports, Sis Elsie has used massage of babies and mothers to start Bible studies in Casiguran.  And Ptr Randy has convinced a radio listener to offer free haircuts to reach kids at the local school.  I am reminded of 1Cor 9:22 where Paul says, “I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.” Read More
