April 2018 PAMI Newsletter & more Ptr Gumer highlights

Ptr Gumer & Ofie Gile with adopted sons, Moses (7) and Jason (13), heading to Juag Island in the outrigger of Mang Jose Fruto.
Here’s the most recent PAMI publication, which includes highlights from the EBI partition and Bulan partition on page 1, and highlights of Ptr Gumer’s ministries on page 2:
April 2018 PAMI Newsletter
Note that Ptr Gumer could use sponsor(s) to cover his $200/month allowance (travel and family living expenses) and $25/month milk feedings, which are currently just covered from PAMI’s general budget. He has sponsors for his housing and radio time, but not for the rest of his expenses. In addition to what’s on page 2 of the newsletter, many more nice pictures from Ptr Gumer are located below. These include photos of the April 7th Rock for Jesus Battle of the Bands held at Irosin Public Auditorium, an April 17th Mabini crusade with mini-concert, March 12-13 Camilig relief distributions and film showings, and other film showings. Ptr Gumer has been very active with film showings using equipment and films provided by Vernacular Video Ministries. Praise the Lord that many people attend these film showings, and respond by raising their hands to commit themselves to Jesus. Read More
Candumaay Christmas Love; Hista's Still Need Sponsors
The ministry in the Candumaay barangay of Matnog was boosted by an abundance of Christmas love, both at Christmas-time and extending to Easter. Last December included Apple Giving to Values Instruction Classes taught by Histas at a local public school and a wonderful church Christmas party sponsored by Filipino patrons. Then during Easter week, Samaritan’s Purse provided Operation Christmas Child gift boxes and Biblical booklets. Ptr Michael and Michelle Hista do a great job there, and still need sponsors. They still need one or two sponsors to cover their $90 per month allowance and $25 per month motorcycle payment. They’ve been in Candumaay almost a year, since getting married April 26, 2017. The breadth of their ministry is quite impressive for being there just one year. For more info on their ministry in Candumaay, please see the August 2017 PAMI Bulletin. A lot of great photos of their various ministries, as well as a nice report from last October can be found below.

Irosin Church Updates and Church Multiplication Coalition
Ptr Gumer wrote in January about a CMC seminar recently held at the PAMI Irosin church:
“This is our picture during the CMC seminar that was held at PAMI ICC where the subject is for discipleship and evangelism training. 8 people from the Irosin church attended and Ptr Jess from Patag and Ptr Felmar from Bulan came also. CMC stands for Church Multiplication Coalition, which focuses on the Great Commission of the Lord in Matthew 28:19-20 and aims to help plant a church in every village that have none. Read More

Emmaus Bible Institute Updates
We praise God for two group baptisms that happened on November 4 (during the break between 1st and 2nd semesters). On that same day, 5 were baptized from the Bulan partition, and 19 were baptized from the Emmaus Bible Institute partition. 16 of the 19 were Compassion sponsored older kids, who have been deeply impacted by years of help and teaching, and decided to publicly acknowledge their commitment to follow Jesus. It’s truly touching that some of the young people that have been served themselves are now actively serving others. Several of these older Compassion kids are now assisting in worship services and outreaches (e.g. helping with outreach to kids in Sirangan, a poor neighborhood near the Sorsogon City market and jeepney station).

This next 11-18-17 pdf file is a letter/report to accompany the above photo file. It is composed by Sister Ofel Mendizabal, head of the EBI Partition of PAMI, and includes photos, bio info, and testimonies of various EBI students: EBI Report Letter Nov 2017
It was mentioned in the above report that the Bicol Center for Christian Leadership (BCCL) in Legaspi conducts Sorsogon City extension classes each Friday at EBI, for pastors to work towards Graduate Certification in Urban Ministries, GCUM. The November sessions were on Systematic Theology and were conducted by guest professor Bill Lambert, a retired pastor from Texas (see photo to right). Here is a recent BCCL newsletter with EBI in one of the pictures (EBI is the Sorsogon City site): BCCL Nov2017 newsletter

560 Samaritan's Purse OCC boxes distributed
Many kids were excited to have Christmas extend to late-February/early-March this year, when 560 Operation Christmas Child gift boxes were distributed in the following PAMI ministry locations:

The new chapel in Buhang was one of several sites happy to receive Operation Christmas Child gift boxes.
Irosin/Patag/Candumaay, Bulusan, Barcelona/Buhang, Bulabog Christian Church, and Emmaus Christian Church/Penafrancia/Pamurayan/Capuy/Basud. It was a real blessing to receive OCC boxes in back to back years, when usually you have to wait a few years in-between. Like usual, Samaritan’s Purse also provided teacher training and discipleship literature to go with the boxes. The Good News of the Gospel is always shared with kids before the boxes are distributed. And children and their families are encouraged towards further involvement/discipleship with the local church after receiving the boxes. It’s a good vehicle for growing the churches and their influence. See below for more pictures:
